Reviews on '2 B'
Hagit Yakira is without doubt my favourite Choreodrome person. Intelligent, warm, generous and humble, just like her work. What she also included, and what I long for more of in dance just now, was joy - unmitigated joy. Her structures were clear, her text making the rhythms and I think we all look forward to seeing more of the finished piece.
I was drawn to the ‘journey’ of these two people, funny, beautiful, child-like, searching, wild! You are both beautiful. Thank you!
Very rich material...and process. I think you have a very special touch and a duet and you propose funny and touching situations and moments. I really enjoyed the beginning...Great use of space. The moment you limit the senses is very powerful and brings a beautiful physicality...Thank you.
The complicity between the 2 dancers made this piece a very special moment of emotion, loved the breathing/not breathing part as well as the contact and sense of humour...so ‘thank you’.
I love the way you lay on a very charming atmosphere and feel and that it can shift very quickly to something much deeper and there’s a profundity to your work that resonates. I think the text generally works well and keeps us on our toes making us ask questions.
Based in London, Hagit Yakira had been working with Takeshi Matsumoto for the last year and a half, creating dance theatre pieces, and dealing with human condition and human relationships.
