The Festival devoted to the contemporary work in the field of Slovak dance presents the latest productions created nationally and internationally - participation of Slovak authors is required. Besides, you can offer us your other projects and activities related to contemporary dance.
The Festival will include various accompanying activities: workshops at the Conservatory of J. L. Bella lead by Slovak and foreign instructors and guided discussions with authors following evening performances, which will take place in the lobby of Komorné divadlo ECC (former Dom kultúry).
The Festival organizers would welcome that the performers stay throughout the whole duration of the Festival and that they participate in the accompanying activities.
STUDIO TANCA was founded in 1998 as the third artistic part of the Central Slovak National Theatre. Since 1999 it has been operating as an independent ensemble for contemporary dance with a permanent stage in the Komorné divadlo Domu kultúry/ Chamber Theatre of Community Center in Banská Bystrica. Its founder is the self-governing region of Banská Bystrica.
STUDIO TANCA is a professional dance theatre focused on the production of original choreographies. Its dramaturgic concept provides space for Slovak artists in the field of contemporary art. The repertory of the ensemble consists of several full-length performances, outdoor performance and interactive programme for the youth.
Since 2002 at the beginning of each October the STUDIO TANCA has been organizing festival of Slovak contemporary dance called 4 days 4 you.
The ensemble regularly presents its production on tours and festivals in Slovakia, and also abroad where it has taken part in international festivals in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Egypt, Japan, Bosnia - Herzegovina, and Italy.
Our idea is to connect two spheres - the sphere of the so called "stone theatre" (theatre with a permanent stage) and the sphere of independent production. We believe that we are successful in realizing this idea. We are convinced that these two worlds are able to co-exist, overlap their artistic potential, and inspire each other.
