Dr Adder in progress will be presented as part of The Place's Touch Wood season at The Robin Howard Dance Theatre.
A fragment of Dr Adder is presented at the Kiss Me Miss Me event at the Rag Factory (off Bricklane) in London. The fragment expands in time as an enlarged detail of a painting expands in space.
Private sharing of Dr Adder at the Siobhan Davies roof studio. Interactive performance event by invitation only.
Acephalous is an emerging performance company founded by Stefania Mylona. 'Dr Adder' is the final piece for Stefania's practice-based PhD thesis at the University of Surrey. Stefania also holds an MA in European Dance Theatre Practice from LABAN. Her post-graduate studies have been funded by The State Scholarships Foundation of Greece (I.K.Y.). Acephalous has presented 'Monster' at the Cloud Dance Festival in 2008 and 'Monster 1,2,3' at The Place's Resolution! 2009. 'Dr Adder' further develops these initial ideas of the grotesque body as an assemblage or composite body made out of 2 or more bodies in tense contact through multiplication and variation by a group of 11 performers. Post-deconstructive performance methods highlight bodily interdisciplinarity. Shape design, effort and human live sounds interweave to create a hyper-real and hyperbolic world of bodily violence, humour and sexuality - the world of Dr Adder.
