Soloconversations Dance collective / Expedition 2011

Expedition 2011 it is a piece that explores the treatment/use of a set “decor” on stage, in a dance piece. Using this idea as starting point, the dancers themselves, direct a scene with a remarkable intention to include the set and with a clear score. Physically, theatricality and musically the dancers built a research/Expedition around differents subjects to deal with this integration of the set.

SoloConversations is a long-term performance project around the practice of improvisation. The project is currently proposed by 7 international performing artists/dancers based in Brussels. In its essence SoloConversations is a place and a time dedicated to the exploration of emotions, the sharing of a particular universe that is expressed by each of the performers in a unique and unrepeatable manner, in a spirit of communication.

More specifically we are a group of diverse dance individuals who have gathered together for the practice and performance of improvisation in movement and voice. There is no leader. We embrace change and evolution. We see ourselves as accomplices with the added value of on-going-ness, ever-evolving, and actively sharing. Our common link is to fulfill our ongoing need for creation as a regular practice and research.
