Synthesis 748 / Isolation in an Infinite Space

“Isolation in an infinite space'' is an immersion in the routes of a stream of consciousness, suggesting a reflection on the theme of the existence. Subjected to complex movements and constant changes, the performer “designs” geometrical lines which are transformed gradually into a spasmodic dance.
These plays of imbalances, these dramatic movements and choreographic spasms are at the limits of the performance, and pose problematic to us on existential isolation. Questions and problematic concerning to man’s isolation in modern urban society and concerning to the seclusion in which the others impose us or even what we chose to impose on ourselves. The human existence isolated in space and time, as a “continuous trip” which is carried out eternally inside a room.
This performance is a symbolic projection of “being” in space: an infinite space, empty, something untouchable. In this scenic exploration, at the limits of time and infinity, the performer comes to slip, to discover his second skin and seek relationship between his existence and the whole existence, the bonds between here and elsewhere…

Background Information
The company Synthesis 748 was founded in 2008 by Spyros Kouvaras, choreographer, dancer, performer, graphic designer and by Korina Kotsiri, visual artist, performer, graphic designer.
Their conception of a contemporary total art is based on dance and dramatic movement, as well as on their relation with visual arts and electroacoustic music.
It integrates their knowledge of the arts of movement and visual arts, and is elaborated out to the limits of a dramatic dance, of a physical dance, of the performance, or even of a choreographic theatre where the body is committed.
They place the body of the performer-dancer in the heart of the artistic creation, with him as the only carrier of multiple meanings.
The company develops a personal anticonformist “language”and creates works which cross the barriers of dance, performance and visual arts.
The creative process is based on a philosophical approach, on the experimentation, the seeking of the avant-garde, as well as on the collaboration between contemporary artists who come from various disciplines: dance, physical theatre, visual arts, video art, and contemporary music.
