Side by Side International Internet Dance Festival, welcomes the Company Synthesis 748 of Spyros Kouvaras and his solo "Isolation in an Infinite Space" for one and premier performance in Germany.
“ Isolation in an infinite space '' is an immersion in the routes of a stream of consciousness, suggesting a reflection on the theme of the existence.
This performance is about the man’s isolation in modern urban society and concerning to the seclusion in which the others impose us, or even what we chose to impose on ourselves. The human existence isolated in space and time, as a “continuous trip” which is carried out eternally inside a room.
“ Isolation in an infinite space '' is a symbolic projection of “being” in space: an infinite space, empty, something untouchable. In this scenic exploration, at the limits of time and infinity, the performer comes to slip, to discover his second skin and seek relationship between his existence and the whole existence, the bonds between here and elsewhere…
The company Synthesis 748 was created in 2008 by the Greek choreographer, dancer and graphic designer Spyros Kouvaras.
His conception of a total art, an art of the contemporary dancer-performer, is based on the gesture and the dramatic movement, as well as on their relation with visual arts.
It integrates his knowledge of the arts of movement and of visual arts and is worked out at the limits of the performance.
He place the body of the performer-dancer in the heart of the artistic creation, as the only carrier of multiple meanings.
Spyros develops an anticonformist “language”, very personal, and creates works which cross the barriers of dance, performance and visual arts.
The company’s objective is the creation of “choreographic installations''.
“ In my creations and choreographic research, what interests me, is the relation between contemporary dance, visual arts and electroacoustic music. Movement is in the image and this movement is that vibrates the image. What I also seek is a movement right in its form and also in the accuracy of its own expression related to a feeling. My dance and rhythms tend to exceed the body code established by contemporary dance and physical theatre, so to adapt a new one.
