"PHYSICAL EXPEDITIONS" -SHORT CUTS
POGOensemble / Ja Ja der Jodok (excerpts)
Concept, choreography, dance:
Dilan Ercenk, Denise Temme, Tessa Temme
This piece is the story of self-constructed friendships; friends who can be inflated on demand, who can be used, abused, or just left alone. The thematic and acoustic foundation is drawn from Peter Bichsel’s novel »Jodok läßt grüßen« and read by the author himself. Peter Bichsel’s linguistic-play sets the action frame for the physical and raw movement-play of the dancers. Brash, wild and sexy, this dance avoids any formal etiquette.
The POGOensemble, Dilan Ercenk, Denise Temme and Tessa Temme, was founded in 2001. All three choreographers graduated from the department Creativity of the German Sport at the University of Cologne. Since then, they have developed a special movement language that shuns traditional techniques. They have won numerous prizes for their productions, such as: 2nd prize and audience prize at the 3rd Choreography Competition Ludwigshafen, an invitation to the 22nd Competition for Choreographers in Hanover, nominated for the Cologne Dancetheatre Prize 2007 and declared the ‘most important theatre piece of 2007’ by the magazine Stadt Revue, Cologne.
