The actions of Polish dance community intensify with every passing year. New dance companies, new premieres, new festivals and new educational projects appear in freshly created dance spaces... Dance audience grows in strength, theatrical festivals open to dance spectacles, we are able to read about dance enterprises, not only on the net, but more and more often also in specialist, theatrical magazines... Dance workshops are multiplying, long awaited schools are created, foreign dance academies are filled with Polish students, and Polish artists seek their artistic paths with increasing fearlessness.This unique situation needs many programs supporting and promoting Polish contemporary dance to make Polish artists present on European scenes and in international projects. There is also important necessity of national presentation of achievements our contemporary dance to foreign curators, festival directors - event in culture agenda of nearly each country in the world.

Confronting this need - Zamek Culture Centre (Polish partner of Trans Danse Europe) and Art Centre Stary Browar organize in Poznań from 7th - 10th October 2010 second edition of POLISH DANCE PLATFORM, which main aim is to update the Polish map of contemporary dance and to present to wide international dance community the most interesting spectacles created in Poland since the previous edition of the Polish Dance Platform in 2008.

Background Information

The Polish Dance Platform promotes and supports Polish dance and the most promising young Polish choreographers. It is a place of meeting for polish dance community - dancers, choreographers, critics, exchange of experiences and discussion about present and future of dance in Poland. There will be discussions, meeting with foreign guests, lectures and also workshops focused on art promotion and fundraising.
