Title: Pressure
A performance by and with: Inger-Reidun Olsen
Light design: Elisabeth K. Nilsson
Pressure
The new solo piece by dancer and choreographer Inger-Reidun Olsen, is a personal imprint. In this performance she is leaning against inner and outer walls, fences, barriers, and borders - creating imprints which are expressed in the performance that the audience is invited to see. Rather than transgressing, Olsen meets and relates to expectations and pressure both from within and without.
As a dancer, Inger-Reidun Olsen works with letting the movements touch and open inner emotional and spiritual landscapes. For the choreographer Olsen, the task is to give this material a form in the encounter with the outer space and the audience. It concerns a form of dialogue, and also negotiation, between the personal and the social spheres through the use of voice and movement.
Most people relate to different kinds of inner and outer pressure from both the social and the personal or private. We all have a inner ”house” with walls and rooms created by our stories and experiences.
