The dance in Solo on Bach & Glenn is based on a written score developed by Albert Quesada. The score is made up of a series of instructions for the dancer and was created in close relationship with the soundtrack. We hear text from the very beginning, where Glenn Gould alternates between explanations about his way of playing and his recorded Bach's Goldberg Variations.
After studying Philosophy and Multimedia Engineering in Barcelona, Albert Quesada trained at AHK (MTD, 2003-2004) in Amsterdam and at P.A.R.T.S (2004-2008) in Brussels. Throughout his studies he organized weekly jams at P.A.R.T.S. and taught in different places.
As a performer / choreographer he has created several dance works: inConcert, Solo on Bach & Glenn, Beautiful Dance, Your Eyes, etc. His work was presented in London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Brugge, Oostende, Ghent, Antwerp, Tunis, Lisbon, Essen, Fürth, Göteborg, Milan, Essen, Ghent, Basel, Rio de Janeiro, Tarragona, Barcelona and Brussels.
Albert is currently working with the company ZOO – Thomas Hauert, with Vera Tussing on a Trilogy of short pieces which will premiere in 2011, and is preparing the duet Solos Bach & Gould.
