Mithkal AlzghairDisplacement

Play video

How does a body react when it is forced to or prevented from moving? From folk pattern to naked torsos dancing, Mithkal Alzghair’s male trio resonates with daily images and illustrates the transformation of the ‘Syrian body’ through war and migration.

Displacement looks at the conflict and contradictions between roots and exile, the necessity to leave and the anxiety of an impossible return.
